Meredith Bell Alvarez has been with Signal Ensemble since season one and is proud to be returning for her ninth season as an ensemble member. She first appeared onstage with Signal as Hero in their 2003 production of Much Ado About Nothing. Meredith next appeared in Signal’s 2004 critically acclaimed rendition of Joseph Heller's Catch-22 in which she played five different characters including Luciana, Nurse Duckett, Nately's Whore, Mrs. Daneeka, and an Investigating Officer. Other Signal credits include Constance Neville in She Stoops to Conquer, Emma Hale in Ballad of the Sad Café, and Cynthia Muldoon in The Real Inspector Hound. Other Chicago credits include Rosalind in As You Like It, Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rosaura in Life Is a Dream, Olivia in Twelfth Night, The Chorus in Medea, Hisperia in As You Like It, Stephanie in Losing Rachel, Elizabeth Almond in The Heiress, and Vincentio in The Taming of the Shrew. Meredith is a graduate of Northwestern University where she majored in theatre and history. During her summer breaks from Northwestern, she trained in Europe with The London Academy of Theatre. Most recently, Meredith added the role of “MOM” to her real life credits, as she and her husband David welcomed their first child, Josiah Daniel, in January of 2011.
