Bries Vannon is in his fourth year as an ensemble member at Signal, where he has been seen on stage in Successors, Motion, Aftermath, Ballad Of The Sad Cafe, Hamlet, and She Stoops To Conquer. He also directed Princes of Waco and served as assistant director on Hostage Song and The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie. Bries is in his third year as Signal's Literary Manager and gets a little prouder at every playwright talkback. Outside of Signal, Bries is also the creator and director of The Nine, a nine-play project of his devising that focuses on providing free experimental work in limited-run form. Part Three of The Nine took place in October 2012; Part Four is currently in planning. Much of the rest of Bries' downtime is spent as an actor/director about town, where he has worked with companies such as Mary-Arrchie, The Right Brain Project, the side project, The Building Stage, and WNEP.
When he's not creating, Bries is also a culture junkie. The resident hipster of Signal Ensemble (in a good way!), he loves nothing more than sharing his new favorite music with (read as: forcing it upon) others. For your consideration, here's some of the stuff he's been on about lately: Chromatics, Rockie Fresh, Daughter, Blood Orange, Clams Casino, Jessie Ware, HAIM, Darkside, Tree, Elite Gymnastics, Ryan Hemsworth, Charli XCX. Go check them out, and come back next season for more!
