Brandon Bruce has been involved with Signal since 2003. Projects with Signal include performing the roles of Larry in Closer and Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, directing and designing sound for Catch-22, and designing sound for Landslide. Outside of Signal his directing credits include The Little Foxes at Chicago’s Shattered Globe Theatre (nominated for three Jeff Awards including Best Production), The Scene at Iowa Summer Rep, Tango (Chopin Theatre – Orgie Award for Best Director), Denali (Working Group Theatre), The Importance of Being Earnest (Festival 56), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (New Leaf). As Artistic Director of Chicago’s BackStage Theatre, he directed The Skin of Our Teeth (Jeff Citation), Terra Nova (Jeff Recommended), The Ruling Class, and Denise Druczweski’s Inferno. Brandon received his MFA in Directing at University of Iowa where his directing credits included Reefer Madness! The Musical and Akarui (IRAM Award for Outstanding Direction). As an actor, he’s worked across the country, performing in such roles as Dwight in Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Kulygin in Three Sisters, and bunches of others.
